Tasting note
The San Rocco vines in Serralunga d'Alba were planted in 1955 by Luigi Scavino's father — in some cases he was even able to integrate older plants into the new plant. Due to old age, the yield is low — the wine that Luigi Scavino makes from this vineyard is all the more concentrated and characterful. San Rocco is a classic representative of the eastern Barolo region: aristocratic austerity, concise bouquet with polished clarity, great fineness and elegance. On the palate, it is powerful, rich and well-structured — with ripe, precise tannin on the finish.

Angaben über Vinifizierung: Luigi Scavino ist ein Präzisionswinzer mit dem Glück, Mitbesitzer von zwei der prominentesten Reblagen zu sein: San Rocco und Bricco Fiasco. Mit extrem niedrigen Erträgen beeinflusst er die Dichte seiner Weine, seine Baroli sind wahrhafte Konzentrate ihrer Herkunft. Das gilt insbesondere für den San Rocco, den schwereren der beiden Spitzencrus.
