Tasting note
The San Giuseppe Riserva is deep ruby red with garnet reflections. The nose is dominated by cool aromas of sour cherry, blood orange, rose petals, Ceylon tea, eucalyptus and mineral notes of graphite. On the palate, the wine is concentrated yet silky with aromas of cherry compote, plum, pipe tobacco, cedarwood and some orange zest. Fine-grained tannins and a racy acid structure result in a mineral and seemingly endless finale. A big Barolo of dazzling beauty!

Vinification
The grapes for this Riserva come from the south-facing Grand-Cru plot of San Giuseppe, which is located in the center of the Bricco Boschis vineyard 335 meters above sea level. The vines were planted in 1961. After manual harvesting, the grapes are fermented spontaneously. The wine is traditionally aged for 4-5 years in large Slavonian oak barrels before the wine ages in the bottle for a further 12 months.
