About the wine
Luigi Einaudi was an economist, university teacher, journalist and democrat, as well as the second president of the “Repubblica Italiana”. He is the founder of the traditional Poderi Luigi Einaudi winery in Dogliani in Piedmont. After his death in 1961, the estate was somewhat neglected, but in the 80s his granddaughter Paola Einaudi took over the management and brought it back to its former glory. Today, her son, Matteo Sardagna Einaudi, continues the story and has turned it into one of the most prominent wineries in Piedmont, with the credo “eleganza e territorialità”, which is reflected in his wines.

Tasting note
Dense garnet red Very tasty Barolo aromas on the nose: red fruits, sour cherry, light mint, spices. Full on the palate, ethereal, dry with good structure. Barolo is accessible from a young age, but the good vintages can also be stored for 20 years.
Culinary recommendation
Tasty dishes with red meat, mushroom dishes or hard cheese.
Vinification
Fermentation in temperature-controlled steel and cement tanks at 30 - 32°C. Maceration for a further 25 days until malolactic fermentation is complete. Ageing in oak barrels and in bottles.
