About the wine
The 2021 Barolo DOCG Massolino is a smooth and vibrant red that’s easy to enjoy, with bright fruit and a touch of spice. It’s the perfect companion for relaxed dinners or catching up with friends over good food.
Tasting note
Deep garnet red, notes of black pepper, tar and tobacco on the nose, subtly fruity, spicy and well-structured on the palate.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pot roast, potato gratin, pasta with meat sauce, truffles, aged cheese.
Vinification
From mid-October, 9 hectares of vines are harvested in the municipalities of Serralunga d'Alba and Castiglione Falletto at 320 and 360 m above sea level. Traditional barolo production, with fermentation and mashing time of around 15 days at temperatures of 31-33 °C. The aging takes place in large Slavonian oak barrels and takes at least 30 months.
