About the wine

Blooming and sunny landscapes of Piedmont give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Crissante Alessandria conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. This snappy Nebbiolo 2018 — Barolo del Comune di La Morra DOCG Crissante crowns every festive meal with elegance and finesse. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Nebbiolo with prosciutto or burrata.

Tasting note
This intense ruby-garnet Barolo delights with an aroma potpourri of red berries, cherries, flowers, cedarwood, some mint and sweet tobacco. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and playful with lots of red fruit, some cinnamon, orange peel, licorice, tar and sweet herbs. The tannins are present and very well integrated and the acidity is invigoratingly fresh. An extremely inviting and lively Barolo, which is great fun even at a young age but also has a great maturing potential.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pot roast, game, beef, Italian specialties, cheese
Vinification
60% of the Nebbiolo grapes for this Barolo come from Roggeri and 20% each from San Biagio and Bettolotti. The oldest vines were planted as early as 1957. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels before bottling and aging in the bottle for at least nine more months.
