Barolo Cerretta Serralunga DOCG 2021 - Azelia - Luigi Scavino

30 years ago, Luigi Scavino rented 2.5 hectares in the famous Cerretta location in Serralunga. She was so fond of him that he rebuilt the system with all necessary soil work, drainage, etc., even though he was not yet the owner at the time. He then had selected vines propagated by a winegrower from the historic Bricco Fiasco location in order to replant them in Cerretta. Fortunately, Luigi was able to acquire the vineyard in which he had invested so much in 2004. Today, this vineyard is a jewel among the small properties of Luigi Scavino's Azienda Azelia. With the 2016 vintage, to mark Azelia's 100th anniversary, Cerretta came onto the market for the first time as a single vineyard, and has always been in the very good vintages ever since. It is a wine with a stately structure that can only be produced in Serralunga: precisely and strictly defined, elegant with a sophisticated aroma and with everything that makes for a classic and long-lasting Barolo. A true masterpiece from one of the greatest Barolisti.
