Tasting note
The Barolo Bussia Riserva 2017 from Oddero is presented in bright ruby garnet. On the nose, aromas of precious wood, cold stone, candied raspberries, black tea, iodine, blood orange and red-cheeked peach develop. On the palate, it is very compact and closely interwoven, with elegant tannins and lovely juiciness. The wine appears very polished and lingers on for a long time, with finesse in the aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with hearty meat dishes, game and aged cheese.
Vinification
The grapes come from the renowned Bussia Vigna Mondoca vineyard. After manual harvesting, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by further bottle aging to develop its complexity and structure.
