Oberto's 60-year-old Barbera vines are located in the Bricco San Biagio site below La Morra. The vines are remarkably dense: 7000 vines per hectare. The yields are low (40 hl/ha) and the extract is correspondingly high. Aging in French barriques for 12 to 18 months is primarily used to give the extremely rich wine with its dense berry and spicy notes a soft tannin structure. The opulence of Barbera d'Alba Bricco San Biagio is hard to beat. 2500 bottles are filled.

Vinification
Die Vinifikation fand wie folgt statt: In der kalk- und lehmhaltigen Lage Bricco San Biagio unterhalb von La Morra stehen Obertos 60-jährige Barbera- Reben. Die Stöcke stehen bemerkenswert dicht: 7000 Reben auf einer Hektare. Die Erträge sind gering (40 hl/ha), der Extrakt entsprechend hoch. Ein 12- bis 18-monatiger Ausbau in französischen Barriques dient vor allem dazu, dem ausgesprochen reichhaltigen Wein mit seinen dichten Beeren- und Gewürznoten eine weiche Tanninstruktur zu verleihen. Die Opulenz des Barbera d'Alba Bricco San Biagio ist kaum zu überbieten. 2500 Flaschen werden abgefüllt.
