About the wine
Tradition meets a breath of fresh air: Since 1881, the Pio Cesare winery has stood for the highest level of quality and tradition — the large traditional Piedmontese house has been managed by Federica Boffa since 2021. The young powerwoman is hailed by the trade press as the youngest top winemaker in Italy. The Barbera d'Alba is close to the family's hearts. They cultivated it in the strictly limited, priceless Barolo and Barbaresco areas. The result is a wine with strong expression, depth and longevity. A charming table mate who goes well with many things.

Tasting note
Garnet red color with purple reflections. Typical bouquet with notes of violet, cinnamon and vanilla. On the palate, the Barbera Pio Cesare appears pleasantly harmonious, round and balanced with beautiful fruit. Barbera is a wine that ages well in barriques. Pio Boffa knows how to harmoniously integrate the wood notes. They underline the fruit and enrich the bouquet with their typical notes.
Culinary recommendation
Perfect with pasta with meat sauces, grilled meat, polenta with mushrooms, pizza, antipasti or medium-aged cheese. Also ideal for classic Piedmontese cuisine such as Vitello tonnato or Brasato al Barolo.
