Tasting note
The complexity of this classic Barbaresco is the result of a combination of high-class Nebbiolo from the fourteen different Gaja locations around the municipality of Barbaresco. The wine shows the typical Barbaresco nose of wild berries, plums, licorice and coffee. Despite its power and density, Angelo Gaja s Barbaresco is known for elegance and a complex finish with the finest, silky tannins. Each Barbaresco from Gaja is an expression of the respective vintage and has great storage potential. Great wine cinema!
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Goes perfectly with burrata, pizza and truffle risotto. Our recommendation: The ideal drinking temperature for the red wine is a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: now until 2021.
Vinification
The Nebbiolo grapes undergo a 3-week temperature-controlled maceration in steel tanks at 26 to 30°C. They are aged for 12 months in barriques and then for a further 12 months in large oak barrels.
