About the wine
The subtle white wine 2017 — Babylonstoren Viognier is the missing puzzle piece on your wine rack. The winemaker from the South African winery Babylonstoren is absolutely proficient in his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this white wine, which originates in the fertile and sunny countryside of the Coastal region. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you serve this Viognier with fondue or potatoes.

Tasting note
Shows aromas of fresh peach, dried apricot and apple blossoms on the nose The wood contributes to depth even though it is not dominant. The mouthfeel is round and creamy thanks to the 30% well-integrated French oak. A flowery nose and a rich aftertaste complete the perfect balance.
Culinary recommendation
It goes best with mild, creamy curries, dishes with ginger, saffron and coconut, or fruity dishes such as chicken or lamb tagine with apricot.
Vinification
The grapes come from the Simonsberg slopes on Table Mountain sandstone. 70% of the grapes were cold fermented in stainless steel tanks for 3 weeks, while the remaining 20% were fermented in 300-liter French oak barrels and 10% in 4000 liter barrels. The wine aged on fine lees for 7 months before it was bottled.
