About the wine

The Apolitico winery is located in the picturesque vineyards of Rezovac, a small village near Virovitica. It was designed to the latest standards and equipped with first-class oenological technology. Particularly noteworthy is a special area in the cellar, where large and small oak, wild cherry and chestnut barrels are used to make wine. Limited editions of red and white wines are produced here. The winery uses high-quality Croatian oak wood, and in addition to the wooden barrels, there are handmade, large-capacity amphoras from Georgia (Qvervi). These unique amphoras make it possible to produce premium red wines with specific aromas, tastes and smells, and Apolitico is one of the few producers in Croatia to use them.

Deep ruby red. Delights with a distinctive fruity scent that is reminiscent of red and black fruits, in particular cherries, currants and blueberries. A harmonious wine that, despite its distinctive fruit aroma, is not only fresh and lean, but also has a soft acidity that has been alleviated by biological acid degradation. This gives the wine a pleasant and harmonious impression in the mouth. Particularly noteworthy are the soft acids, which have been alleviated by malolactic fermentation and leave a pleasant, harmonious impression in the mouth. A wine of pleasant intensity, very well structured and an elegant finish. A special feature of the vinification of this wine is the manual selection of the grapes and the 20-day maceration in 1200 liter amphoras, followed by acid degradation and aging for one year in the same amphoras.
