About the wine
An exceptional terroir wine made from the best individual barrels of the estate's Monastrell grapes. On the nose, intense fruit aromas as well as a hint of finely scented, roasted almonds, cedarwood and tobacco. The ripe, fruity aromas of dark cherries, plums and dried plums also flatter the palate, paired with slightly peppery spicy notes and subtle coffee, chocolate and vanilla aromas. Velvety, well-integrated tannins accompany the full-bodied, long finish. A treat for the senses, with lots of body and elegance!

Tasting note
Dense ruby red. Intense complex nose, spicy, dark berries, toast aromas, rosewood. Bitter on the palate with aromas of tobacco and smoke. Alont is full-bodied with beautiful Syrah and Monastrell fruits and an elegance that comes from Cabernet Sauvignon. The blend was made from the very best barrique wines from the Pio cellar.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled or braised beef, lamb chops, game dishes or hearty pasta with tomato or mushroom sauce. It is also a wonderful accompaniment to aged hard cheese.
Vinification
The grapes (Monastrell, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon) come from organically managed vineyards in Jumilla. After careful handpicking, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged in French and American barriques for several months, giving it depth and complexity.
