Plot no. 44 in San Pietro in Cariano, where most of the Azienda Buglioni vines are located, has attracted attention over the years for its particularly rich grapes, which, thanks to the good microclimate, always reach full maturity in a perfectly healthy state. Mariano Buglioni has therefore decided to separately and process the harvest of this preferred piece of land. When fermenting and macerating the grapes, Mariano takes a special approach by cooling the mash and thus allowing this process to prolong. As a result, the aromas remain fresher, leaner, more precisely defined than a classic Valpolicella. On the palate, too, it looks a bit more mineral as usual, and very straight. In technical language, this is called “vertical.”
