About the wine
Labels? Waste of paper! Christoph Edelbauer writes how it tastes to each wine and puts it on the bottles with screen printing. He does this anew every year — after all, it's very easy. The young Austrian only wants complexity in wine. And in technologies that enable environmentally friendly work: He had his new building built according to energy-efficient principles. He also works with nature in other respects than against it: The nature boy brings out compost and lets wild herbs grow instead of dealing with fertilizers and herbicides.

Tasting note
The Zweigelt is a deep dark red with purple reflections. On the nose, an intense aroma of dark fruits unfolds, accompanied by a fine touch of mocha chocolate. On the palate, it is powerful and full of expression, with impressive depth and an unmistakable pride of origin. The balance of fruit, structure and elegance makes it the perfect companion for characterful dishes. It goes particularly well with juicy roast beef or spicy beef tartare. A wine with aging potential that will continue to develop its finesse by 2033.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with roast beef, venison and beef tartare.
Vinification
The 100% Zweigelt grapes come from the Haasel vineyard, an east-facing valley with clayey black soil and red sandstone. The wine was harvested at the beginning of October 2021. The wine was spontaneously fermented on the mash in open wooden fermentation stands and then matured for 12 months in 500-liter oak barrels.
