The whiskey that started it all at WhistlePig. This multi-award winning 10-year-old rye whiskey came about when a batch of 10-year-old blending whiskey was saved from its unfortunate fate — and the WhistlePig Distillery team decided to give it a new life. The whiskey ages in American oak at the WhistlePig farm in Vermont before being bottled locally. He embodies the spirit of WhistlePig: uncompromisingly rebellious in his reinvention of rye whiskey.
Vinification
WhistlePig 10 Year Old is one of the few whiskeys made from 100% rye and originates in Alberta, Canada. However, it receives its particular reputation from two further maturation stages: first in new, charred American oak barrels, followed by a finish in former bourbon barrels.
