About the wine

PEACH - QUINCE - SPICY The Riesling grapes come from weathered clay slate from the sites of the Trittenheimer Altarchen and the Rosengärtchen. Opposite, separated from the Moselle riverbed, the two locations tell each other their love stories. They agree: stress-free and uncomplicated drinking flow should be the promise of this everyday hero. A well-structured sweet and sour game with fine aromas of lime, gooseberry and apple meets fresh minerals. Classic, balanced, just typical Mosel.

Tasting note
The classic, traditional Riesling style on the Moselle has always produced wines with a fine residual sweetness. The Vom Schiefer Riesling feinherb builds on this tradition and is the introduction to Eva Clüsserath's mineral steep layer Rieslings. The vines for this wine come from three different individual sites: The Trittenheimer Altark with weathered clay slate soils is located on the Trittenheim Moselle side and produces Rieslings with aromas of citrus, grapefruit and orange peel. The rose garden with clay slate weathered soils is located north of Trittenheim. The Sonnenlay single vineyard is located near Mülheim in a side valley of the Moselle and conveys filigree, citrusy, slightly mineral aromas. This results in a balanced, harmonious example of the classic taste of this region with a finely integrated, mineral backbone through a fine mix of sweetness and acidity.
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: It goes well with duck, mushrooms and Indian cuisine. Our recommendation: Enjoy this white wine at a slightly chilled 6°-8°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: up to 4 years.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand and gently pressed. Spontaneous fermentation in classic Mosel wooden barrels (fuder barrel). The wine is then left on the lees until June.
