About the wine

Of all the wineries in the Bolgheri DOC area, Tenuta Argentiera is the closest to the sea; its vineyards extend from the vast plain to the hills and are located in an idyllic landscape, rich in natural beauty and intense scents. The vines are surrounded by Mediterranean forest, the maquis, and avenues of old pine and olive trees mark the borders of the winery. The grapes benefit from the different types of soil: The varieties Cabernet, Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah take on an extremely typical character in the Bolgheri area and produce great wines of the highest quality.

Tasting note
Intense bright ruby red. In the bouquet, Villa Donoratico impresses with aromas of red berries such as red currants, raspberries and cherries. There are sweet notes reminiscent of exotic scents as well as spicy and ethereal notes such as licorice and eucalyptus, with a finish of laurel and sage. Elegant on the palate, Villa Donoratico has silky and full-bodied tannins that are well present. You can find the aromas of the bouquet again, which then end with pleasant fruity notes. Long-lasting aftertaste with intense aromas and a nice fresh and mineral finish.
Culinary recommendation
Unsere Empfehlung: Der Rotwein schmeckt am besten bei leicht gekühlten 16°-18°C. Der Wein sollte in diesem Zeitraum genossen werden: Jetzt bis 2022.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand and picked out on a double sorting table; the whole berries fall into tubs due to gravity. All varieties were processed separately. Fermentation and maceration took place for about 20 to 25 days in steel tanks at a controlled temperature not above 28° C. The wine was then transferred to 225 l French oak barrels, in which the malolactic fermentation was completed. The aging took place in barriques and then in the bottle.
