About the wine
Venus de La Figuera is the result of collaboration between the City of La Figuera cooperative, Sara Pérez and René Barbier. In return for their wine advice, they can harvest and vinify the grapes from the Guixà estate, the highest in the municipality, at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level and plant them exclusively with grenache on clay-lime soils. Tasting note
Serious, austere elegance. Dark and deep, berries, discreet sweetness, even fresh fruits such as oranges and lots of mineral structure. On the palate with mature balance, very firm and decisive, between tannins and minerality, a noble sweet fruit seduces.
Culinary recommendation
Von den Flaschenpöstlern empfohlen: Venus de la Figuera DO harmoniert bestens mit Burger mit Blauschimmelkäse, Gemüse und würzigen Gerichten.
Vinification
Selective reading by hand. Slow spontaneous fermentation of partially stemmed, whole berries in open wooden barrels over 30-35 days. The wine is then aged for 18 months in large wooden barrels of 2,500 l.
