Brilliant, dark carmine red — beguiling nose with intense notes of ripe plums, dark plums and Christmas pudding spices. On the palate, there is also plenty of spice like cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg, which beautifully complement the rich, opulent fruit. The aromas of black cherries, cassis and ripe blackberries gradually lead to a full-bodied “finish” that is characterized by a surprising freshness. This South African “port wine” goes perfectly with ripe, strong cheese or even with chocolate desserts.
