Nestled in the Forgue Valley, deep in the East Highland Hills, is The GlenDronach, one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. For almost 200 years, she has been producing the finest single malts aged in sherry barrels. The GlenDronach is in true Highland style: a heavy and robust brand, perfect for a long aging period in sherry casks. At The GlenDronach Distillery, the tradition of their founder James Allardice has continued since 1826 by aging their whiskey in the best Spanish Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry barrels. They are constantly working to improve the art of sherry cask aging. Their Highland whiskeys are known for their deep colors and rich flavor profiles. The sweet and fruity aromas come from the Pedro Xi-menez barrels, the dry, nutty notes from the excellent Oloroso barrels. Their well-kept secrets have been guarded for almost 200 years by a band of crows who love The GlenDronach so much that they try to nest in the warehouses. The distillery employees believe that as long as the crows stay in the distillery, it will be good for the whiskey.
