Tasting note
Rich ruby red — extremely charming, spicy bouquet of ripe cherries, lavender, cloves and vanilla. On the palate, the wine simultaneously shows an elegant yet powerful character with fruity notes of dark strawberries and cherries as well as hints of citrus peel, herbs and again vanilla. The tannins are very well integrated and the finish is long and pleasant. This slightly aged vintage is currently drinking absolutely fantastic.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled meat, game dishes or spicy stews.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and come from high-altitude vineyards. After fermentation in open tanks, the wine ages for 18 months in a combination of new and used French oak barrels.
