About the wine

Evil tongues say about mountain valleys that people neither come out nor look. All you have to do to discover fantastic things is to take a look. To career changer Alex Stauffer in Valais, for example, who has switched from working on a screen to working in the vineyard. After only a short period of study and training, Alex founded Le Vin de L'A in Flanthey in 2018 with ½ ha of vines and since then, the now 3 ha have produced beguiling charismatic wines. No additives, with character. All work is carried out manually, in line with the lunar cycle and the terroir, so that additives such as sulfur are neither desired nor necessary. Oh what, the wines are as great as they are, anything else would be disruptive!

Tasting note
The little Count - like a child in a frock coat: so young, light and soft, red stone fruit and berry fruit, so much aristocratic flair: also blue fruits, the classy clothing: the razor-finely textured, dark minerality that doesn't stop the boy from playing in the well-kept garden: the natural notes here, less animalistic than of harmonious beauty. Playful grace on the palate, of a light, elegant beauty, no scars: so unharmed this soft, light fruit, no fight: so cuddly, no competition: this harmony, no vanity: this beautiful fruit and this delicate minerality are so playfully light and yet so aristocratic on the palate. Fantastically young elegance.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with herb-crusted lamb dishes, braised beef, spicy pasta, aged hard cheese or hearty eggplant lasagna. Also great with barbecues and autumn mushroom dishes.
Vinification
Separate aging of the sites, 60% whole grape fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts, over 40 days on the mash, aging for 15 months in wooden barrels. Minimal sulfurization, unfiltered.
