About the wine
Kellerei Kurtatsch is located on the South Tyrolean Wine Route, 30 minutes south of Bolzano. The main source of income of the inhabitants of Kurtatsch is wine and fruit growing. This wine-growing community is unique in South Tyrol, the vineyards are located at 220 to 900 m above sea level. In the vineyards, there has always been a close relationship between farmer and vine, which is reinforced by the small structure of Kellerei Kurtatsch. Excellent wines are produced in the vineyard. The finishing touches are given to single people in the cellar.

Tasting note
In the bouquet, this Merlot cabernet from South Tyrol seduces with aromas of juicy cherries, ripe wild berries and dark plums, accompanied by a touch of dried herbs such as laurel, which give the wine a tart, Mediterranean note. Spicy nuances unfold on the palate, supported by an impressively juicy and ripe tannin structure, which gives the wine body and fullness. Its strong constitution makes it ideal for a longer aging period in the bottle, which allows its potential and variety of aromas to develop even further.

Temperature-controlled fermentation in a rotor tank, aging in French barriques for 12 months, subsequent storage in large oak barrels
