Tasting note
This rarity from Dan Standish comes from his Stonegarden Vineyard, which was established in 1858 in the High Eden Valley. A magical scent envelops the nose with beguiling aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, sage, mint, smoked meat and licorice. Concentrated on the palate, extremely silky texture, full-bodied, extremely juicy, ultra-fine tannin. Chocolaty touch, black tea. Fine minerals, good grip, generous mouthfeel, rich in structure and the cool Eden Valley style with a powerful finish that is reminiscent of a great wine from the northern Rhône. A world-class Shiraz that is as rich and profound as you would expect from vines over 100 years old. An elegant wooden label adorns the elegant bottle.
