About the wine

In the middle of the Palatinate in Duttweiler, a small wine village between Speyer am Rhein and Neustadt an der Weinstraße, is the headquarters of the Bergdolt-Reif & Nett winery. The foundation stone was laid back in 1838 with the construction of the sandstone vaulted cellars. After a division of the inheritance in 1900, adoption and marriage, the winery is now run by the fifth generation of the Nett family. At an altitude of 120 to 140 meters above sea level, the vines grow here nestled in an almost Mediterranean landscape, in which kiwis, figs, almonds and sweet chestnuts also ripen. Soil layers of over ten meters thick, mainly loess and clay, with fine calcareous veins shape the character of the wines. The winegrowing trio consists of Christian Nett, Bernhard Nett and Heinz Bergdolt-Reif. They work in harmony with nature, as it is their greatest asset, which the three winemakers emphasize time and again. It sets the pace of work throughout the year, especially in the vineyard.
