Tasting note
On the nose, dense aromas of dark berries, ripe cherries, fine vanilla, roasted aromas and a touch of tobacco. Powerful and concentrated on the palate, with smooth tannins, elegant fruit and a subtle spiciness from barrique aging. The finish is long, harmonious and accompanied by fine wood notes — an expressive Merlot with character and depth.
Culinary recommendation
Ideal with braised beef, lamb chops, game dishes, truffle dishes or aged hard cheese. Also great with pasta with hearty ragù or a risotto with porcini mushrooms and parmesan.
Vinification
Traditional mash fermentation with temperature-controlled fermentation for optimal aroma extraction. It is then aged in French barriques, which give the wine structure, complexity and aging potential. The use of barriques is noticeable, but finely tuned and harmoniously integrated.
