About the wine
In the L'Aione winery, the olive trees that grow in the vineyard plots to loosen up the soil and the green soil between the rows of vines provide a habitat for a large biodiversity of plant species and microorganisms. This creates a sustainable ecological balance. Only small quantities of grapes are harvested; the dedicated winemakers are thus laying the foundation for the high wine quality already in the vineyard.
Tasting note
Optimal south-southwest exposure. 6000 plants/ha. Beautiful, dense, elegant complex wine, scented with wild berry aromas and black cherries, with a slightly peppery note. Pure Sangiovese from some very old, well-owned clones. Maturation in French 300 lt barriques for approx. 12 months.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled meats, stews, aged cheeses, red meats, game and roasts.
