The brothers Luca and Matteo Sega are among the newcomers to Valtellina. Since 2006, they have been setting up an independent wine-growing business with vineyards inherited from the family. In fact, the inheritance was far too small to establish an existence. However, as neighbors repeatedly give up winegrowing (too steep locations, too expensive to maintain, too low grape prices), they can buy more land on an ongoing basis. Today, there are already 3 hectares in yield. The brothers only process their own Nebbiolo grapes, grown separately according to location, so that the characteristics of the grapes grown in the Alps are expressed unadulterated. They come from plots between 350 and 450 meters above sea level, which are characterized by granite and quartz. There are 4000 vines on one hectare. The yield is very low and the wine is correspondingly mineral.
