About the wine
The ancestors of the Fontana family began cultivating vines in the hills around Castiglione Falletto, the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, over 400 years ago. The family's current winery was built in 1820 and is run by Livia and her children Michele and Lorenzo. Livia took over the winery from her father, which was unusual. She confidently renamed it from “Ettore Fontana” to “Livia Fontana.” The family is characterized by extraordinary foresight: As early as the 1960s, Ettore supplied its customers in Switzerland with its delivery van, a tradition that is still lived on today.

Tasting note
My nose is full of floral notes, citrus freshness and a hint of lemongrass. On the palate, I'm lively, crunchy and juicy — with memories of white peaches and Renette apples. My freshness makes me youthful, my structure gives me depth.
Culinary recommendation
I feel good at tables where aroma and refinement come together. Fried anchovies with aioli or salmon in teriyaki make me shine. I can also easily accompany a creamy risotto or fresh pasta. Of course I'm also a great aperitif wine.
Vinification
In September, I am handpicked and gently pressed. My fermentation is slow and controlled in stainless steel so that my clear expression is maintained. I then rest in the tank for 4 to 8 months and continue to mature in the cool, underground Livia Fontana winery.
