About the wine
Fertile and blooming landscapes in South Tyrol give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Ansitz Waldgries conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Tasting note
Roblinus de' Waldgries is new. And differently. Deliberately the best of the good. These century-old wines are only produced in very special years from a cru location. “I have decided to separate the fillet from the Kirschleiten vineyard behind our estate only in top vintages. A wine that is only available in limited quantities.” (Christian Plattner) Intense fruit, dark berries, plums and elderberries on the nose, spiced with notes of cigar tobacco and fine precious wood tones. Mouth-filling palate with a present but fine tannin structure and a long finish.
Culinary recommendation
A fine wine for a “Sunday roast”. With its full-bodied nature, it is a special accompaniment to more hearty dishes, such as beef stew in Lagrein sauce, dark grilled meat and game dishes such as deer entrecote with juniper sauce, spaetzle and red cabbage or wild hare ragout with prunes.
