About the wine

This wine is made from grapes from the winery's vineyards with an average age of 60 years. The harvest is carried out by hand and the grapes are sorted out on a selection table directly in the vineyard. Alcohol fermentation and maceration in contact with the mash for 25 days in low-capacity stainless steel containers (12,000 kg). The wine then goes into Quercus Sessilis oak barrels, which are imported from the best forests in Europe (France, Hungary and Croatia), where it is aged for 16 months without filtration. Finally, the wine is bottled again without filtration and aged in the bottle for a further 20 months before reaching the market.

Tasting note
Intense cherry red of high density with no color change at the hem. Very balanced nose with wonderful nuances. Predominant aromas of pickled and very ripe black fruit with very personal mineral notes from calcareous soils in the background. Pleasant lingering balsam notes (cinnamon, clove) of French oak. Fine wood notes and elegant toasted notes are also clearly noticeable. All these aromas give this Reserva excellent complexity. Meaty, smooth and powerful on the palate. Its ripe pine trees already make this wine ready to drink. At the same time, however, its excellent structure also gives it very interesting expansion potential. A smooth, balanced wine with a long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Von den Flaschenpöstlern empfohlen: Rioja DOCa Special Selection harmoniert perfekt mit Pizza, Barbecue und rotem Fleisch.
