About the wine
At the beginning of 2000, the estate was purchased by Roman Niewodniczanski, restored and expanded to include numerous prime locations or replaced less good locations. The current size of around 75 hectares, which are located almost exclusively in the core zones of the renowned Saar steep slopes, is impressive. The aim is to produce wines with a high harmony of ingredients that are digestible on the palate and embody pure drinking pleasure. The characteristics of every vineyard location should be optimally expressed, with the results being predominantly dry-aged, mineral-rich wines with ripe fruit and low alcohol content.

The wines are characterized by deep, salty and delicate minerality and distinctive elegance with a juicy yet supple mouthfeel.

Vinification
The selected, late-picked grapes are gently pressed after manual harvesting and then spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks using wild yeasts. When stored on fine yeast in wooden barrels for eleven months, the wine gains additional complexity and creaminess. The wine is bottled without fining.
