About the wine

Founded in 1718, a long line of highly respected men had the fate of the winery in their hands. Today, Gunther Hauck (commercial director) and Ulrich Mell (technical managing director) run the winery in the spirit of owner Jana Niederberger. Impressive cellar vaults with ancient finds from the vineyards and the wine museum, which contains all vintages from 1880 to the present day as well as the large vintages back to 1811, show the history and tradition. Ulrich Mell is responsible for the style of the wines and presses crystal-clear, modern, primary-fruity Rieslings, but spontaneously fermented Rieslings also shape the style of the winery.

Tasting note
Clean and wonderfully clear on the nose, bright and juicy with ripe fruit aromas, subtle bitter notes, candied fruit and some flint. A very elegant Riesling with great potential!
Culinary recommendation
Von den Flaschenpöstlern empfohlen: Riesling PECHSTEIN «Grosses Gewachs» harmoniert perfekt mit Ente, asiatischem Essen und Crevetten.
Vinification
After manual harvesting, the selected grapes are gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. This is followed by aging on fine yeast in stainless steel tanks for six months before the wine is bottled and sold.
