Tasting note
Freshly opened, the Knewitz estate riesling comes across sparse, smoky and cool, but with a little air, the picture changes quickly. Peach, mango, grapefruit on the nose, plus a touch of lemon balm, ripe pear and a bit of lime. On the palate, wiry yet crumbly texture, delicate chalk touch, chalky smokiness from the ground comes through, lime zest and grapefruit, an exotic with charming creaminess, but in the end, the very juicy acidity sets the tone, invigorating and long.
