About the wine
Even the Romans knew what great wines were produced here and in the 3rd century they built vineyards in the steep slate slopes that still exist today and a villa complex on the historic Van Volxem s winery. Today, Roman Niewodniczanski and his team build on this rich tradition. Aware of the uniqueness of their history and locations paired with the necessary innovative spirit, they create wines from vines, some of which are over 120 years old, which are unrivalled in terms of excitement and expression. With their pure, precise handwork, a return to traditional craftsmanship and respect for the surrounding nature, that goosebumps are guaranteed!

Tasting note
Lucky Luke - Ride across the prairie always towards sunset. The golden-orange sun, a warm breeze around your nose, invigorating, delicate, appeasing the heat of the day, with ripe but very fresh aromas of apricots and mirabelles, a touch of citrus, delicious, charming, delicately tart and with drinking flow, makes you want more, in eternity, and all this at a low alcohol content of 9.5% Vol.
Culinary recommendation
The wine should be enjoyed during this period: 2013-2019. Flaschenpost team tip: Riesling Kabinett Rotschiefer Mosel goes well with duck, Indian cuisine and mushrooms.
Vinification
Late, very selective harvesting of fully ripe grapes by hand and further selection at the table in the cellar. Gentle, gentle pressing, spontaneous fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts in oak barrels and temperature-controlled steel tanks. Ageing over 5 months in steel tanks. No additives or wine treatment agents.
