Riesling Goldberg 1G 2024 - Weingut Knewitz

As the name suggests, Goldberg is a warm location; the plot at the heart of the location is even the warmest vineyard owned by the Knewitz family. Together with a slight reduction, the nose explodes with ripe aromas, ripe melon and pineapple, plus a touch of honey and some chamomile, overripe apricot, opulent and very inviting. Juicy and engaging on the palate, slightly crumbly and chalky structure, but overall very flattering and soft, ripe fruit again with pineapple and lemon zest, some quince, good acid pressure, clings well to the palate and is therefore a nice introduction to layered rieslings, remains charming without being too demanding.
