About the wine
Dalva is a brand of over 100 years old C. da Silva (Vinhos) Sarl winery in Vila Nova da Gaia. It has a few quintas on the middle reaches of the Douro, and its cellars store over 4,000 pipes of port wine.

Tasting note
Color: ripened onion skin color; Bouquet: mild, sweet, apricot, wine berries, aromatic, dried fruit; Body: harmonious, round, pleasant sweetness.
Culinary recommendation
Warm fruit desserts, hard cheese with nut bread, a glass with 4 o'clock tea, or simply as a “soul warmer”, with walnuts, Grisons nut cake
Vinification
The young wine is stopped with brandy at an alcohol content of 3%. The aim is to leach paint and tannins. Then storage in barriques until bottling. The barrels are never refilled, so the wine is constantly under the influence of air. In a 10 years old port, the youngest wine is at least 10 years old. However, older wines may also be included in the blend.
