About the wine
Protos 27 was created in 2017 on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Bodegas Protos and honors the founding fathers of 1927. The winery was originally the founding winery of the “Ribera del Duero” wine region. A pure Tempranillo from vines over 50 years old: intense, complex and elegant. It was awarded an excellent 93 points by Wine Enthusiast, 95 by Decanter and 94 points by Guia Penin.

Tasting note
Intense, complex and elegant on the nose, with a range of different nuances of black fruits, plums, roasted and vanilla notes as well as aromas of toffee and licorice. Persistent and concentrated on the palate, round and balanced with a long-lasting finish. A high-end wine that can be stored for a long time.
Culinary recommendation
Fried meat dishes as well as lamb, pork and veal. Also great with stews, pot roasts, game and aged cheeses.
Vinification
16 months in French oak barrels.
