About the wine
The estate is located on the Salento Peninsula, the heel of the Italian boot. The story dates back to the 19th century. Even the founders were ambitious and wanted to create a model for viticulture in southern Italy at the time. This spirit is still felt today. In 2008, the Falvo family took over the 80-hectare winery and have been passionately dedicated to the autochthonous varieties ever since. The wines have an expressive character, are steadfast yet charming and cosmopolitan.
Tasting note
Forest fruits such as wild strawberries, blueberries and blackberries, dark plums, sweet spices, freshly roasted coffee and the scent of Mediterranean herbs and flowers such as laurel, thyme and lavender. On the palate, deep, dark, engaging, with an incredibly elegant and rare backbone of freshness and tannins in wines made from the Primitivo grape.
Vinification
Selective reading by hand. Fermentation in temperature-controlled French wooden tanks, aging for 12 months in barriques and large French wooden barrels.
