Poulsard Cuvée des Docteurs AOC 2023 - Lucien Aviet & Fils

Goes well with cream cheese, grilled red meat, wild fowl.

This rare white grape is part of the same family as Chardonnay. The ripe grapes shimmer golden yellow, sometimes with a delicate shade of pink — and produce a white wine of remarkable finesse. On the palate, it often shows exotic notes, citrus fruit and distinctive minerality. The grapes are completely destemmed and fermented exclusively with wild, vineyard yeasts. The wine is then aged in barrels on fine yeast for 12 months — until bottling. The name “Cuvée des Docteurs” is a tribute to the medical students who helped winemaker Lucien Aviet with the harvest in the early years.
