Tasting note
Something special, a wine with grapes from two different countries, Hungary & Austria. These biodynamic grapes grow on gneiss and clay soils. The Ponzichter shows a medium ruby red. Concentrated fruit aromas on the nose with subtle notes of charcoal. On the palate, the wine is also very concentrated and the crunchy sourness provides a nice freshness. Full of body and very balanced. Ponzichter (“bean grower”) was a name for the German-speaking minority of winemakers in the Sopron region.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with light dishes such as salads, poultry or vegetarian dishes. It is also a treat when slightly chilled on warm days.
Vinification
Spontaneous fermentation, 18 months in 40-year-old oak barrels. 10mg/l sulfur.
