This Pinot Noir draws its strength and energy from the calcareous, shale soils in Burgundy. The winemaker from the French winery Domaine Louis Latour transforms it into a real treat with great sensitivity. Tasting note
Nice garnet red color in the glass. Very complex on the nose with scents of blackberries, coffee and pepper. On the palate, the Pommard 1er Cru les Epenots is rich with aromas of cherries and ends in a juicy finale. Firm and somewhat tough in youth, the “Epenots” needs time to mature and become supple before presenting itself in full splendor.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef, soft cheese, duck
Vinification
Hand harvest. Fermentation traditionally in large, open wooden barrels. The wine is then aged for 10 to 12 months in oak barrels specially made by the Louis Latour coopers.
