About the wine
What Markus Schneider has achieved in recent years is hard to believe. In 1994, it started from scratch, so to speak. And today, 22 years later, he and his team work over 92 hectares, bottles around 800,000 bottles a year and is described by the German trade press as “The Phenomenon” and “The Favorite of the Young Scene.”

Tasting note
The wine shows a great nose with aromas of currants, blackberries, cherries, licorice, cloves, pepper, mocha, violets, orange zest and roses. On the palate, fleshy, powerful and elegant at the same time, juicy, silky, spicy fruit, complex, beautiful wood insert and a very long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team recommends this pinotage with pasta bolognese, salami and strong cheese platters.
Vinification
Manual harvesting of ripe and healthy grapes, traditional mash fermentation with stems in an open vat for three days, gentle pressing under low pressure, subsequent storage without external intervention for eight months in perennial German Riesling barrels.
