About the wine

Elisabetta Foradori and Rainer Zierock were always a moment ahead of their time. At a time when the entire wine world looked at the grape varieties known as international, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and honored them, their attention was paid to European wines. In 2002, the move was followed by Teroldego, which is native to Trentino. At their winery, which had existed since 1901 and was owned by the Foradori family in 1939, they were already working on a Teroldego mass selection in 1985. Just one year later, they pressed the first “Granato”. Still an Ik of biodynamic viticulture, certified since 2009. Emilio, Theo and Myrtha continue and develop their parents' work today. Together with their mother, Elisabetta, they are working on an operating concept back to a part of a mixed company as it was in the past. Always working in the cycle of nature, always ahead of its time.

Tasting note
Cat on a hot tin roof - The color immediately reveals that it is a ripe wine. The nose is decadent and sometimes a bit cumbersome rebellious, like a 63-year-old Republican with a funny sign at a random rally in Kentucky. The maceration is more pronounced on the palate, while the tannins grab the cheeks from the inside, a grip that you can't get rid of immediately. Less clarity, more richness, more texture. Maraschino is the word of the year here. The new cocktail menu: Martini, Negroni, Old Fashioned and Fuoripista. For the good old, super-rich patriarchs, you might think that today the young, liberal free spirits also love the classics from back then.
