Dry Curacao from Ferrand was created in collaboration with cocktail historian David Wondrich based on a recipe that is more than 100 years old. The idea was to launch a traditional triple sec for classic cocktails. Curaçao is produced in a complex process and bottled at 40% volume. Bitter orange peels from the Caribbean island of Curaçao are marinated in unripened brandy together with lemon peels and sweet oranges. In addition, the orange liqueur is enriched with cognac from Ferrand's own production. In the glass, it gives off a wonderfully complex aroma of sun-ripened oranges. Fragrances of floral orange blossoms, oak and cognac notes seduce the nose. On the palate, too, Triple Sec is fruity and sweet with a pleasant bitter note in the background. The sweetness of candied oranges is accompanied by a touch of almonds and herbs. The fruity-spicy finish also features cognac and grapes.
