Petit Verdot 2020 - Zorgvleit

Tasting notes: This Petit Verdot has an intense black color with a bright purple border. The nose is deep and thoughtful, with black cherries on the nose and aromas of violets, printer ink, iodine, dried sage and cassis. Tight and concentrated structure on the middle palate with a medium-long finish. Even though Petit Verdot can be a bit overwhelming as a single-variety wine, Zorgvliet wine is made in a style that respects elegance and balance. analysis: Alcohol content: 14.39 %/ pH: 3.65/ TA: 5.7 g/L/RS: 2.5 g/L/VA: 0.55 g/L Winemaking notes: The grapes were harvested by hand and the berries were sorted into stainless steel containers Fermenter. The fermentation began spontaneously and was completed with a pure variety. The extraction was carried out using a combination of punch-down, rack-and-return and pump-over methods. The batches were gently pressed and immediately transferred to small French oak barrels, where they completed the malolactic fermentation. The components were bottled three times to improve clarification and development. The blending process took place after 14 months of aging, after which the resulting mixture matured in barrels for a further 4 months. After a total of 22 months, the wine was bottled.
