About the wine

Tasting note
Medium-density, glossy ruby red. Wonderfully redberry and spicy on the nose. There are aromas of red currants, cherries, but also warm-spicy components. Grippy and juicy on the palate. Once again, wonderfully spicy, with noticeable but polished tannins and an animating acidity. Charmingly light-footed and lively. A delicious food companion.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with meat and cheese platters as well as with pasta with pieces of fish.
Vinification
The Perricone, called 'GUARNACCIO' by Regaleali winegrowers, was described for the first time in 1735 and has been cultivated in the winery since 1954. A clone selection from the historic San Lucio vineyard has allowed new vineyards to be created from which this wine comes, which is rich in polyphenols and spicy aromas that are reminiscent of ancient winemaking traditions. The grapes come from vineyards at around 480 m above sea level. The grapes are carefully picked by hand, pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The aging takes 12 months and takes place in French oak barrels, which are used for the second or third time.
