Tasting note
The only wine from Benanti that does not comply with the DOC classification is its pure Nerello Cappuccio. Strangely enough, the Etna-DOC Act does not provide for this variety for single-variety maturation. Benanti voluntarily dispenses with DOC Etna and simply offers wine from what is perhaps the oldest and most typical grape variety of the Sicilian volcano simply as Nerello Cappuccio. The fruit is very fine and is reminiscent of red fruits. On the palate, it appears warm, supple and harmonious with low tannin and subtle acidity.
