Tasting note
Dense black red. Noble and profound in scent, new nuances are constantly being added. Black elderberry, stinging nettle, tar, leather, cedarwood. Very dense and close-meshed in structure with lots of fine-grained tannin, lots of juicy fruit extract, some tar and cassis again, despite the density, looking cool and fresh, extremely long aftertaste. A fine, great wine for special moments. A must for Cabernet Sauvignon fans!
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The red wine tastes best at a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The recommended enjoyment phase of this wine is in the following period: Now until 2017. Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Goes perfectly with red meat, Gruyère burgers and pizza with mushrooms.
Vinification
An homage to Manso de Velasco, governor of Chile during colonial times. A brave, entrepreneurial man known for his strength on the battlefield and founder of the town of Curicó, where these vines grow. The grapes come from over 115 years old rooted vines. Aged for 18 months in 70% new French barriques. Bottled without filtration.
